WBA Glos welcomed Nottingham FC to Winchcombe School in the quarter final of the cup. Nottingham started brightly enjoying the lions share of possession. WBA defended well and began to even up the share of possession however, a swift counter attack from Nottingham saw them take the lead after a sublime switch of play was finished off with a long range effort into the top corner. As WBA continued to find their way another setback in the way of a penalty sawthe score stretch to 2-0 in the favour of Nottingham.
Safe to say WBA put the first half behind them and started the second encouragingly with more purpose in their forward play. A much more even affair saw both teams attack and defend well with Oscar Hartland in goal for WBA pull off one of the saves of the season to deny a superbly struck volley. Soon after Hartland was called into action again with a smart save one v one. WBA continued to defend resolutely and soon were rewarded when combination play found Finley Wagstaff through who slotted calmly into the bottom corner. WBA, reinvigorated by the goal continued to press on for an equaliser but could not find it. The game ended 1-2 to Nottingham who ran out deserved winners on the day. Good luck to Nottingham in the next round and hope everyone got home safely.
