We welcomed the visit of Wiltshire FA today at a new location for us as well as them.
The challenge for the team in the first quarter was to keep a clean sheet and get as much time on the ball as possible to get ourselves into the game. The bonus challenge was to nick a goal. Both teams had their chances and had spells of domination but well contested 1st quarter.
2nd Quarter again we competed well with both teams having their spells. Unfortunately didn’t complete target of clean sheet but again happy when going a goal down our heads didn’t drop and we got straight back into the game. Good passing resulted in a good equalising goal. We finished the quarter 2-1 down but still in the game but this was when Wiltshire FA started to impose themselves.
3rd Quarter unfortunately was Wiltshire's quarter. They scored early and for some reason our head went down and we could seem to get a foothold of this quarter. This ended up being a good quarter for the gold winner of todays match Ned. I thought they went into another gear and for me they won the battle of the midfield. They wen onto to win this quarter 4-0 and in my opinion we didn't get a hold of this quarter and this was where the game was lost.
Excellent response in 4th Quarter where the target was to win the quarter. We changed it around and looked like we were going to complete the target but to lose a final goal in the last minute was disappointing from our prospective.
Overall learnings for me as a coach I should have reacted and strengthen up the back line but when they started to get on top. We are always learning and that is what I love about this league.
