BIC welcomed Saints Southwest to Bristol in a league fixture following a close encounter before Christmas which BIC edged 1-0. It was sure to be a competitive game with two physical teams who like to play good football.
BIC dominated early possession and looked to threaten in forward positions forcing several early set pieces. They took the lead after 15 minutes through a well worked corner routine and headed home by Zach White.
Despite many other chances created in Q1, BIC couldn’t extend their advantage against a good goalkeeper and the woodwork.
Q2 was much of the same pattern but BIC were up against a resolute back line for Saints who defended their box really well, looking to create attacks on the break.
In Q3 BIC increased their advantage through Raheim Rowe who finished well in the six yard box after a cross and then a good header from Khan Miller deflecting into the Saints net made it 3-0. Despite their continued effort and determination, Saints couldn’t create and clear cut chances and BIC went from strength to strength in Q4.
The scoring was competed in the final period as Raheim Rowe held off his marker to finish 1v1 with the keeper into the bottom corner.
Both sides deserve credit for a competitive game today with good football on show. We wish Saints the very best for the rest of the season and hope to play them again next year.
