Today we welcomed Cradley Town to the MAA for this U15 JPL league game. Cradley started very quickly, and this led to them taking the lead early with a great goal from Remell Hudson. Diamonds started to get themselves back into the game, and they got an equaliser when Jacob swung in a deep corner which was headed goal-wards by Adam which was saved by the goalkeeper, who could only parry the ball onto the cross bar and William Jones was on hand to finish from close range. The second goal started in the home teams back four, William Glennon played a long ball down the left flank which Tom Simmons ran onto and delivered a perfect cross which saw William Jones bring the ball down with close control, turn on a sixpence and slot the ball in the net at the near post. Cradley kept the home teams back four on their toes throughout the first session but it ended 2-1 to the home team. The second session started quickly for Diamonds when William Jones dribbled past a couple of defenders and slot home to make it 3-1. Cradley continued to work hard and never made it easy for the home team, the session ending 3-1 to Diamonds. The third sessions started in a similar fashion with both teams trying to play football and it was Diamonds who went further ahead with Jacob Peaks scoring a fine goal with a long distance shot. Bailey Weatherly then got on the score sheet when he rounded the visiting goalkeeper and slotting home with a neat finish. The third session ended 5-1. The final session saw Diamonds extend their lead to 6-1, the final result when Bailey again finished smartly. Thanks to Cradley for a great game.
