The JPL had long sought to create a league for the very pinnacle of girls’ clubs outside of the Elite Regional Talent Clubs so when they were approached by a number of professional football clubs to offer an elite environment for female players, they seized the moment and two of the most talented and prestigious girl’s divisions in England launched.
The JPL has always prided itself on being a player-led league and we have always enjoyed championing the achievements of our players. We felt that we wanted to give the Girls playing in our league their own divisions and identity so we could hero their achievements and expand what we do.
The JPL Warriors League now has Under 12s through to Under 18s and is the fastest growing girls only football league in England, and has great clubs like Tottenham Hotspurs, Watford, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Queens Park Rangers, AFC Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Derby County, Leicester, Huddersfield, and Wimbledon AFC along with other very high-quality girls teams that hit the standards expected to be in this amazing league.
Our matches are played on a Saturday at high-standard venues to ensure the best football can be played and enjoyed by all.
The JPL is a player championing league with the highest coaching standards in England. We have always emphasised development over results and are the only English youth league to have a long-standing requirement of 50% minimum playing time for all players. JPL has a national first in class reputation for player advancement in youth football and matches are played over 4 periods to maximise the coaching time granted by professional academies allowing for enhanced strategic player development.
